The Sarcoma Clinic

Sarcoma is the general term for a broad group of rare cancers originating in bones and soft (connective) tissues. Soft tissue sarcoma forms in the tissues connecting, supporting and surrounding other body structures. This includes muscle, fat, blood vessels, nerves, tendons and the lining of your joints. Sarcomas can invade surrounding tissue and can metastasize (spread) to other organs of the body, forming secondary tumors.

The Sarcoma Clinic at Kansas City Joint Replacement and Sports Medicine is part of the HCA Midwest Physicians network in Kansas City. Suhel Kotwal, MD practices orthopedic oncology with Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at HCA Midwest Health.

The Sarcoma Clinic offers treatment options for several conditions falling under orthopedic oncology:

  • Metastatic disease of the bone from other sources of primary cancer, including:
    • Lung
    • Breast

    • Colon
  • Developmental pediatric conditions, including:
